public policy concentration - mpa degree plan

Thirteen courses (39 graduate credit hours) are required for the MPA degree. Students complete the program by first taking the beginning core courses, then taking specialization courses. As students complete their concentration courses, they complete the ending core courses.
Please note: Capstone Project is required for the public policy concentration.
Beginning Core

- PA 8010 The Public Economy
- PA 8090 Seminar in Organization Theory & Individual Behavior in the Public Sector
- PA 8120 Research Methods for Public Administration
Ending Core
- PA 8300 Policy Design and Implementation
- PA 8440 Organizational Development and Change in the Public Sector or PA 8530 Strategic Planning and Management in Public and Nonprofit Organizations
- PA 8990 Capstone (Students admitted Fall 2011 and beyond will complete the capstone project or thesis)
Capstone Project (3 credits):
PA 8990 Capstone Project (Students admitted Fall 2011 and beyond will complete the Capstone Project as an ending core course)
